Artist Management

Recognized by CBC Radio as one of Canada’s most promising young artists, American-Canadian soprano Midori Marsh is quickly establishing herself as a “polished and poised performer” with a “truly gorgeous, expressive sound” (OperaRamblings). Ms. Marsh returned to Wolf Trap Opera as a Filene Artist in the summer of 2025, singing Frasquita in Carmen, and appearing as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with the National Symphony Orchestra. She was also the soprano soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the National Orchestral Institute and Festival, and performed a recital with Canada’s National Arts Center. In the 2025/26 season, Midori joins the North American Broadway tour of Phantom of the Opera as Carlotta Giudicelli.
In the summer of 2024, Midori joined Wolf Trap Opera as a Filene Artist where she sang Musetta in La bohème and Jackie-O in a workshop of Kamala Sankaram’s The House of Yes. She also joined the Peterborough Singers for Handel’s Messiah, performed selections from Chants d’Auvergne with the Guelph Symphony, and gave a recital for the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto as a recipient of their prestigious Career Development Award.
During the 2023/24 season, Marsh appeared in Tapestry Opera’s Rocking Horse Winner, portraying the role of The House (soprano) and covering Ava. In concert, Ms. Marsh was featured in the National Arts Centre Orchestra’s performances of lieder arrangements by Clara Schumann, Soundstreams’ Electric Messiah, Slow Rise Music’s Here Be Sirens, Poulenc’s Gloria with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, and the Guelph Symphony Orchestra’s concert, New Year’s Day in Vienna. Ms. Marsh also joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for two engagements: as a featured soloist for their Young People’s Concerts and the soprano soloist for Haydn’s Creation, a joint production with the Amadeus Choir.
Ms. Marsh recently completed her three-year tenure in the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio, where her portrayal of Papagena in Die Zauberflöte was described as “amusingly playful” and “infectious”. Additional roles with the company include Frasquita in Carmen, Annina in La Traviata, Ivy in Ian Cusson’s Fantasma, the Third Apparition in Macbeth; covering Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro; and singing Nella and covering Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi.
A frequent performer on the Canadian opera scene, Ms. Marsh has collaborated with the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, where she appeared as Sarah Thorpe in Liza Lim’s No One’s Safe and Johan’s Mother in Missy Mazzoli and Royce Vavrek’s Silent Light. In the 2022/23 season, she portrayed Norina in Don Pasquale with Under the Spire Festival and Cunegonde in Candide with the North York Concert Orchestra. On the concert stage, she was featured as the soprano soloist in Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem with the Resound Choir and NYCO, and in Mozart’s Requiem in partnership with the Canadian Opera Company and Against the Grain Theatre.
Among her many accolades, Marsh was recently awarded 3rd Prize in the Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition and both 1st Prize and the Audience Choice Award at the Mildred Miller International Voice Competition. She has also been a finalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition, claimed 1st Place at the COC Quilico Awards, and was recognized as a two-time semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. She holds a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Toronto, as well as an Opera Diploma and Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with Honors from Wilfrid Laurier University.
"Marsh, a Canadian opera singer making her national tour debut, is the superlative stand-out of the cast, crafting a colorful character with bombastic comic arrogance combined with a breathtaking coloratura. Her La Carlotta is a superior comic foil for the Phantom."
